Always popular, we have been operating our gulet cruise for Her on a Hill for several years and this time have given the tour a little facelift.
The pace of this sightseeing cruise can best be described as leisurely; balancing relaxation, exploration, history and nature in the most beautiful of natural settings.
Experience peaceful evenings under the stars, the soothing motion of the boat, and mornings that begin with the sunrise, refreshing swims, moments of quiet reflection at dawn and a delicious Turkish breakfast.
This restorative cruise balances relaxation with exploration. Swim, kayak, or indulge in a massage overlooking ancient tombs—all whilst savouring fresh, locally-sourced meals and connecting with other like-minded souls.
You certainly won't go hungry, our meals are also a highlight with a different view almost every time you sit to eat. We have been told so many times how much people love to eat our food made from fresh, seasonal, locally grown produce full of flavour and variety.
Running just once this year, reserve your place whilst you can.

We recommend that travellers book their transfers directly with us because occasionally the start/finish ports can change at the last minute due to weather conditions. If transfers are booked with us it is easy for us to ensure travellers are delivered to the correct port.
Whether you’re looking to recharge, explore, or simply unwind from the bustle of daily life, this is the ideal retreat for you.
Experience the perfect blend of nature and exploration as we combine the art of slowing down with the excitement of embracing new, enriching experiences.
And the highlight of it all? All of this unfolds aboard a luxurious handcrafted gulet as you cruise the breathtaking Turkish Aegean.
Day 1: Arrive in Marmaris. Dinner onboard with opportunity to go to a Turkish Bath.
Day 2 We will take the one hour crossing by ferry to the Greek Dodecanese Island of Rhodes and be welcomed by our local Greek guide. She will show us around the enchanting medieval city, pointing out the highlights of the Palace of the Grand Master, the Street of the Knights of Rhodes and Mandraki Harbour said to be the location of the Colossus of Rhodes. You will have free time in the afternoon to wander these quaint medieval streets before taking the one hour ferry journey back to Marmaris.
Day 3 Today is your chance to enjoy cruising the stunning coastline of pine forested mountains as we cruise to the bays of Semizce. With plenty of time to relax, read a book and watch the world go by.
Day 4 A short walk on paved lanes takes us to the home of a local family in the village of Ekincik. We’ll be invited by one of the women living there to make some food for our lunch; she might show us how to make Gozleme, a flatbread filled with cheese and spinach; or some mezes using fresh vegetables.
Day 5 After breakfast, we will take a riverboat for a wonderful day of exploration as we cruise along the Dalyan river. We will pass Iztuzu beach (home of the Loggerhead turtles) gaze at ancient tombs high on a hillside; visit the ancient city of Kaunos occupied by all the major civilisations; take a luxurious dip in natural thermal pools and still have time for a little shopping in the riverside town of Dalyan.
Day 6 By now, you will be thoroughly relaxed and have your batteries recharged. You will have got to know each other, shared stories, swapped books and decided you absolutely love Turkish food. Maybe you’ve been in the kayak, been snorkelling or swimming. If you want to stretch your legs in nature and have brought some hiking boots with you, we will be able to leave the boat and take a short coastal hike to take in vast panoramic vistas.
Day 7 A leisurely morning to reflect on all you’ve seen, all you’ve experienced and the new friendships you’ve made before arriving into Fethiye port after lunch. From there, we’ll take a short minibus ride to explore the abandoned village of Kayakoy. It’s worth reading Louis deBerniere’s book of fiction Birds Without Wings which was based on this fascinating village, sometimes known as the Ghost Village.
Day 8 Say your goodbyes to the crew and your new friends in Fethiye.
*Cruise may operate in reverse. Direction of cruise will be confirmed no sooner than four weeks before departure and is subject to change at short notice (this is a rare occurrence but adverse weather conditions can leave us with no choice).
**Please note the ferry trip to Rhodes is subject to ferry availability. We have some flexibility in the week and will reschedule if it’s possible. There is a small risk that the trip cannot go ahead if the ferry doesn’t operate due to the weather. This is outside our control.
Our handcrafted 100-ft gulet combines charm and comfort. With 7 en-suite cabins, dining on deck, and cozy lounging spaces you can always find places to relax.
Each cabin has a private en-suite bathroom with home style toilet, shower cubicle and hairdryer. Cabins have a small wardrobe, underbed storage, window and bedside light. Electricity is available in cabins for charging mobile phones and cameras every evening. Cabins are smaller than a hotel room but larger than you’d find on a typical sailing yacht. A bath towel, hand towel and beach towel are provided.
The bar, galley and salon are located in the wheelhouse where there are stunning 360° views. With plenty of sunbeds on the fore and aft decks choose how to relax; sunbathing, reading, chatting or perhaps you’ll even sleep here under the stars.
Meals are taken on the aft deck where you’ll enjoy a different view with every meal.
She has sails although operates under motor for most of the trip to ensure we can keep to our schedule.
Described as Leisurely, we will spend our time sightseeing, walking around ancient sites and enjoying the incredible experience of living onboard for a week.
There may be cobblestones or stony paths in some areas, so good footwear will be very useful.
This isn’t a hiking holiday, but those who would like to walk in nature can join the guide once or twice during the week along a coastal or forest path. these paths will definietly be rocky and uneven and hiking boots are recommended.
