As if gulet cruising along this beautiful coastline weren’t enough; you get to dance on deck with the feel of teak beneath your feet, amongst ancient ruins and maybe in the garden of a once nomadic family. We’ll take short hikes in forests of pine with stunning coastal views and simply be immersed in nature.
One of the joys of this trip are the unplanned surprises. It was happenstance that took us to the ruins of a Roman amphitheatre just as a class of schoolchildren were already dancing; of course their teachers immediately asked us to join in and were thrilled to discover Anne had already taught us a turkish dance “Damat Halayı” which we danced together.

Cabins on are smaller than you’d expect in a hotel but larger than on a sailing yacht. They are handcrafted from mahogany, iroko, teak and pine so are rustic but are clean and have a small wardrobe with storage under the bed for luggage. Every cabin has a private en-suite bathroom with toilet, hand basin and shower; hot water is available in the evenings. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided; a beach towel is also provided.
With plenty of sunbeds on the fore and aft decks choose how to relax; sunbathing, reading, chatting or perhaps you’ll even sleep here under the stars. Meals are usually taken on the aft deck where you have a different view for almost every meal.
Dancing
Anne has been circle dancing for about 30 years, and running classes since 2008. Her down to earth approach means her sessions are fun and relaxed. In all her teaching (dance, massage, crafts) she is known for her clarity, patience and sense of humour.
Anne loves the variety in circle dance and so teaches both traditional and modern, fast and slow, upbeat and meditative, simple and more complicated.
For many years she danced regularly with Laura Shannon and Andy Bettis; and she completed the teacher training with Judy King. She has run annual circle dance holidays in Croatia since 2008, and is once again looking forward to the experience of dancing onboard and onshore.
Low to Intermediate Hiking is optional.
The walks won’t exceed 4 or 5 miles and may be shorter, but the terrain is rocky, stony and uneven. There are some steep sections over loose trails; some narrow coastal paths and such sections require care. You will need a reasonable level of fitness to participate in the optional hikes. Appropriate footwear must be worn (trainers are not enough). If you like to hike and want to join the optional walks you need to bring a rucksack, hiking boots/shoes (with/without ankle support), hiking poles are very useful. Bring a refillable, reusable container for water.
