Our new itinerary sees Bruce lead this singing cruise for a third year but with a brand new itinerary between Fethiye and Kalekoy. We have found more bays of turquoise and greens and blues; ancient sites, sunken sarcophagi, beautiful forests to hike and sing in. Of course, it’s all drawn together by harmony singing and delicious food. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.
Bruce has been running singing workshops in the UK and abroad for almost 20 years. A member of the Natural Voice Network and regular teacher at Unicorn Voice Camp, Bruce is known for his wonderfully inclusive and relaxed style. He has a talent for enabling people of all backgrounds and abilities to sing with wild abandon; and teaches inspiring and uplifting harmony songs with humour and clarity.
For the third year, Bruce has rented our privately owned gulet East Meets West for your private charter. The trip is only open to singers – to make the admin easier for Bruce you can book your place directly with us, just press the Book Now button.

Overview Fethiye – Kalkan
Our flexible itinerary will allow for at least one singing session each day, often more; with the opportunity to hike on at least 3 days if you want.
Day 1 – Arrive in Fethiye. Join the gulet and settle into your cabin before dinner; a great way to relax after the early start. Your meals are cooked by an onboard chef who prepares food using the best of local, fresh ingredients. The Turkish kitchen is very diverse and these meal choices are described to give you an idea of the variety of foods prepared for you.
Day After having your Turkish breakfast onboard we cruise out of Fethiye bay and moor alongside Gemiler Island so you can have your first swim and singing session of the holiday. Take a short, rocky hike to the lighthouse for spectacular sunset views overlooking Babadağ. Dinner of Sea Bass, aubergine and green pepper meze, Purslane and yoghurt salad, green salad
Day 3 –An early start at sunrise sees us cruise for around 3 hours before arriving at Yeşilköy for breakfast. We’ll visit the ancient site of Xanthos and the beautiful sandy beach of Patara with ruins from the Hellenistic period.
Day 4 – Watch the sunrise and have an early morning swim before breakfast; or stay asleep on deck if you prefer. A morning of singing and relaxation before we cruise on to another bay for the evening. Delicious lunch of green peppers stuffed with rice and tomatoes, courgette and aubergine salad served with yoghurt
Day 5 – A day of relaxation starting with singing after breakfast. We’ll also visit the old town of Kaş and still find time for swimming and canoeing too. Flavourful lunch of fresh green beans in tomato sauce
Day 6 – Kalekoy is a wonderful mix of an old village and its ruins on the hillside, surrounded by Lycian sarcophagi partly submerged in the sea. We’ll have a chance to walk through here and make our way to Üçağız. Dinner of Dalyan Kofte with hard boiled eggs and tomato sauce, roasted cauliflower with garlic yoghurt, broad bean salad
Day 7 – A day of cruising, singing and relaxation. Healthy lunch of chickpeas and lamb in a fresh tomato sauce, bulgur wheat and salad
Day 8 – Say your goodbyes to the crew after breakfast in Kalkan.
Note
*This itinerary is flexible and open to change. Whilst it is our intent to operate this particular itinerary, it may be necessary to run any of our itineraries from Marmaris or Fethiye.
*Tour could operate in reverse
*Air-conditioning can be available for 3 to 4 hours daily in summer months. The use of A/C in harbours is strictly forbidden.
Depending on sea and weather conditions, Meridian Travels & Yachting reserves the right to make necessary changes to the tour itinerary to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests. The Captain’s decision is final.
Cabins on are smaller than you’d expect in a hotel but larger than on a sailing yacht. They are handcrafted from mahogany, iroko, teak and pine so are rustic but are clean and have a small wardrobe with storage under the bed for luggage. Every cabin has a private en-suite bathroom with toilet, hand basin and shower; hot water is available in the evenings. One bath towel and one hand towel are provided; a beach towel is also provided.
With plenty of sunbeds on the fore and aft decks choose how to relax; sunbathing, reading, chatting or perhaps you’ll even sleep here under the stars. Meals are usually taken on the aft deck where you have a different view for almost every meal.
Singing
Bruce will lead singing sessions every day. We will be singing in a small group of up to 14 people and holding simple harmony lines in groups of 3 or 4. Whilst there’s no need to be an accomplished diva, experience of harmony singing is an obvious prerequisite
Bruce will be sharing some of his very favourite harmony songs. “The week may include some African songs, perhaps a bit of gospel, a dash of pop, and some world-folk – whatever I’m currently feeling passionate about. Be prepared to move your body and sing your heart out, and join our singing community on the Aegean Sea!
You don’t need to be able to read music – all of the songs are taught by ear. Just bring energy and enthusiasm!”
Low to Intermediate Hiking is optional.
The walks won’t exceed 4 or 5 miles and may be shorter, but the terrain is rocky, stony and uneven. There are some steep sections over loose trails; some narrow coastal paths and such sections require care. You will need a reasonable level of fitness to participate in the optional hikes. Appropriate footwear must be worn (trainers are not enough). If you like to hike and want to join the optional walks you need to bring a rucksack, hiking boots/shoes (with/without ankle support), hiking poles are very useful. Bring a refillable, reusable container for water.
